Khirsu is a hidden dream within a dense forest of pine, Oak and Deodars. Encircled by the snow-laden Himalayan peaks. Nestled at an altitude of 1,700 mtrs it's a place from the fairy tales, one of the most unexplored destinations of Garhwal.

Rail : The Railhead is Kotdwar, 115 Kms.

Road : A motorable road connects Khirsu with Pauri, the nearest town. Pauri is well connected through roads with Dehradun, Rishikesh and Kotdwar.

But, a trl from Pauri, down the Kandoliya hills offers the most exciting alternative route to Khirsu.

Being at Khirsu needs a Different mindset. This place makes you introspective, closer to your natural self. Leaving behind your city life, your unban existence like a mere slough, get yourself immersed completely, into the serene surrounded.

Even on a sunny day can't see the sky above as one descends through the thick forests of pine, Oak and Deodars, past elegant pathways covered with bright green moss and fascinating growth of fern, You well pass through an unknown world amidst numerous apple trees, bunches of Mushrooms grown in the dark underneath fill your nostrils with the fragrances of nameless wild flowers and exotic herbs, listen to the songs of the nature, accompanied by chirping birds.

It's an experience, exclusively your’s because Khirsu never sees the multitude of visitors. When you reach the top, you get a breathking view of the entirs Himalayan range. Jwalpa-Devi Temple : A well-Known religious centre on Pauri Kotdwar road. Open round the year. A big religious festival is held every year, during the Navaratras.

Ghandiyal Devta : The ancient temple of Ghandiyal Devta is a major attraction, in the area.

Srinagar : Located on the way to kotdwar and on the bank of river Alaknanda was once the capital of Garhwal King. It's the Biggest township in the area.

Deval Garh : One of the important garh capitals of Garhwal. It is situated 16km away from Khirsu towards Srinagar. Raj Rajeshwari & Gauri Devi Temples are the important attractions here.

Ulkha-Garhi : 3km from Khirsu (Chaubattakhal) motor road a snall trek-route that leads to this Garh capital. Small Ulkeshwari temple and ruins of Garh-capital are important attractions here.

Pauri : District Headquarter of Pauri Garhwal and Commissioner's Headquarters of Garhwal region is situated here. Pauri is 20 Km from Khirsu. It is also an attractive hill station. A tourist bungallows and a number of private Hotels are available here for stay. It is another big township in the area.

Ulkha Giri : Ulkha Giri is a 2Kms. drive from Chaubattakhal and an easy 2 Kms. trek . Ulkha Giri is situated at a breathtaking elevation of 1900 mts. above sea level, affording ravishing views of the imposing Himalayas and misty valleys.

Ranigarh : Ranigarh is situated 1Km. from Adwani at an altitude of 7200 feet. A secred temple of lord Shiva, Adeshwar Mahadev is situated here. Every year in July a fair is organized where thousands of devotees participate. Seasonal and migratory birds can also be easily seen and the place is an ideal destination for bird watching.
