Beyond New Tehri

Chamba : 11 km from New Tehri. Chamba is a fascinating town nestling at the height of 1.676 mt. A sleepy hill station in the background of the snowy peaks, overlooking the breathtaking Bhagirathi valley, situated at the crossroads of Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Tehri and New Tehri. Chamba is an orchard country and a major apple growing centre in India.

Surkhanda Devi : This holiest mountain top shrine is at an altitude of 2.903 mt, in the midst of a dense deodar forest. It is said in Hindu mythology that Surkhanda Devi is one of the incarnations of Goddess Parvati. The temple was originally built in 13th century. Its unique architecture depicts the distinct hill-style of construction. Every year, a fair is held in the month of May - June, during Ganga Dusshera.

Dhanaulti : Located amidst thick virgin forests ot Deodar, Rhododendron and Oak, this tiny hamlet has an atmosphere of uninterrupted peace and tranquility. The long wooded slopes, unbridled outdoors, caressing breeze, the warm and hospitable people and a fascinating view of snow capped mountains make it an ideal retreat, a relaxed hideaway. Situated on the Mussoorie- Chamba route, Dhanaulti is 40 km away from New Tehri.

Mussoorie : 1971 mt above the sea level, the Queen of the Hills in the north India, Mussoorie is holding multiple attractions. A salubrious place with well appointed hotels, numerous educational institutions and a Raj era charm makes this hill station unique.
